Makere Rangitoheriri- Chairperson
Makere passed on 8th September 2009. Makere had dedicated many, many years to serving Maori land owners on various trusts as a trustee and or chairperson. Makere helds the position of chairperson of Tauhara North No2 Trust and brought with her a vast knowledge in forestry, horticulture, treaty claims and especially Maori Tikanga. Makere’s passion was for the restoration of wetlands and was the driving force behind the establishment of the Wetland Restoration & Development (Puna Whakaata) program in Tuwharetoa.
Phillip Sullivan - Trustee
Phillip Sullivan passed away on 9th January 2008. Phillip was a trustee for 18 years during which time he served as Chairman of our trust and more recently as a working trustee. Phillip will be remembered for his “CAN DO” attitude. His contribution during the negotiation stage for the Nga Awa Purua Power Station was extremely valuable in achieving the joint venture arrangements that we now have. He will be sadly missed by all. Phillip is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his 2 children and mokopuna.
