50 KM Speed Restriction
All users of all roads extending from the Rapids Road turnoff and extending to the Nga Awa Purua Recreational Reserve and all roads leading to Nga Awa Purua Power Station & Rotokawa 1 Power Station - are reminded that the speed limit for all these roads is 50KM/Hr. This is necessary for safety reasons during the construction of Nga Awa Purua Geothermal Power Station. We are advised that speed limits will be monitored by both onsite security and Police.
